The thugs are said to have bundled the victim into a waiting vehicle and sped off towards Upper Hill Area, and dumbed him.
The man had withdrawn the money from the bank and was walking home when men posing as police officers struck, and abducted him.
Police believe such crimes are committed through collusion between the bank officials and the thugs.
Thuggery incidences have been on the rise in Nairobi's CBD and its environs, the latest incidence being the killing of a police officer last week in a Thika bound Kenya Mpya bus.

On Tuesday, Nairobi’s mysterious and notorious cop, Hessy Wa Dandora sounded a warning to an alleged pastor who has been terrorizing Dandora residents, in the guise of praying for them, hours after gunning down one thug.
Taking to a Facebook group, Dandora Crime Free, the mysterious coup warned the man, identified as Okite Stephen Oketch and a John Ernest Onyango, against terrorizing residents of Dandora Estate.
Bank robbery
Early March, Habib Bank AG Zurich along Koinange Street in Nairobi was dramatically broken into by unknown thugs and cash of unknown value stolen.
The thugs reportedly used gas cylinders to break into safes and had time to eat inside the banking hall. Customers who turned for the normal services were directed to other branches in Nairobi’s Westlands and Industrial areas.
