Though Sing’ore Girls Secondary School was the number one countrywide, a keen look at the top 100 candidates list shows that none of their students made it to the top.
Sing’ore, which had 271 students sit for the National Exam, had a mean score of 69.9.
Interestingly, Light Academy in Mombasa County which came in second with 69.1 points also did not have any of its candidates on the top 100 list.
However, Alliance Girls’ High School which was number three nationally with 68.6 points had a total of 14 candidates on the top 100 list.
Number four top school was Kenya High School (68.2) which saw five students make it to the top 100 category
At the time of this reporting, Pulselive.co.ke only had the list for the top 100 schools and candidates so the striking phenomena of Sing’ore Girls Secondary School and Light Academy could be explained by the fact that most students had an exemplary performance hence pushing the overall mean score up.
The KCSE 2017 results have seen unpopular schools fight for the top 100 position with giant institutions that have for years reigned.
