She is however, set to undergo psychiatric analysis at Mathare Mental Hospital to determine if she is fit to take plea for murder charges against her on October 15.
Ms. Maribe appeared in court together with her fiancé Joseph Irungu after the Director of Criminal Investigations (DPP) Noordin Haji declared murder charges against them on Tuesday morning following the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.
“I am satisfied that there exists a prima facie case to warrant criminal prosecution,” Mr Haji stated. “I have therefore directed that they be immediately arraigned before the High Court and charged accordingly.” Said Haji
During their arraignment at Kiambu Law court, the two appeared to have lost the intimacy and public affection that had characterized their relationship before the Monica murder.
They sat on the dock side by side but they did not exchange any pleasantries. Maribe looked away from her fiance’s direction, betraying the tension between them.
