"Police said investigations show that the gun used in the shooting belonged to Kassaine, and that he had a habit of giving his fire arm to Mr. Irungu," said part of the report.
Mr. Kassaine mentioned that after the attempted suicide, Joe Irungu woke him up to go and collect the gun at the TV journalist’s house.
His words according to the police corroborated Jacque Maribe’s statement when she was interrogated by DCI detectives.
Detained
The revelation by police comes a day after Ms. Maribe and her neighbour Brian Kassaine were detained for 10 more days as detectives conclude investigations into the brutal murder of Monica Kimani. Maribe's fiancée Joe Irungu was arrested as the primary suspect.
Jacque Maribe is currently detained at Gigiri Police station while Mr. Kassaine was taken to Lang’ata Police Station on the Court’s orders.
