Matiangi's Team exposes 40 Teachers involved in KCSE 2017 cheating

The shocking revelation was made when the 2017 KCSE results were announced by Education CS Fred Matiangi.

The Teachers Service Commission CEO Nancy Macharia on Wednesday revealed that 40 teachers have been reportedly been involved in exam irregularities in the 2017 KCSE exams.

Speaking at the Nairobi School when the 2017 KCSE results were announced by Education CS Fred Matiangi, Macharia said those teachers implicated will be punished.

"These teachers face de-registration if found to be abetting cheating in exams. There will be sanctions on those who do not follow the stipulated regulations," Macharia warned.

She also declared that school proprietors found employing teachers who have been deregistered by TCS will be taken to court.

Earlier, while receiving the KCSE results at State House Nairobi, President Uhuru Kenyatta directed Matiang'i to work with Attorney General Githu Muigai to make presentations to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Dr Keriako Tobiko so that cases of cheating involving more than 700 teachers countrywide are expedited.
