Chaos as police teargas protesting medics at KNH [Photos]

They have been dispersed by anti riot police.

The workers had staged a go-slow over delayed payment of their allowances. This is potentially set to paralyze operations at the nation’s largest National Referral hospital.

Speaking to pulselive.co.ke via phone, KNH Communications Director Simon Ithae confirmed of the demos, adding that no operation has been affected by the demos.

“Yes, there has been demonstrations, which were peaceful and the said section of workers are still chatting their way forward. Actually they were to go on strike but the court stopped it, that’s why they have assembled to chat the way forward,” Mr Ithae told pulselive.co.ke.

A section of the media on Monday morning had reported of a chaotic scene at the facility. The police, however, intervened and dispersed the workers.

It remains unclear how much the workers are demanding from the institution.
