Strike to coincide with third term of learning, disrupting preparations for KCSE and KCPE

Should the strike materialize, learners preparing for both KCSE and KCPE exams will be inconvenienced with operations expected to grind to a halt.
Announcing the decision, Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary General Wilson Sossion maintained that the ongoing exercise is aimed at bullying, humiliating teachers.
He urged the TSC to come up with alternative ways of assessing teachers’ performance instead of the present model that has
Sossion noted that the present model has forced teachers to flock to cyber cafes to fill forms in the ongoing exercise as most schools do not have well-equipped computer labs.
He also demanded for the automatic promotion of teachers who have acquired relevant higher education qualifications accompanied by an increase in their salaries backdated from the date of graduation.
Sossion who is also a nominated MP was speaking at Urban Primary school in Embu at a KNUT branch AGM.
He promised to table the grievances in parliament for review.
