Government demolishes mall in Nairobi (Photos and Video)
The operation carried out by the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) started at around 7 am.
The mall, which is opposite T-Mall, is said to be built on riparian land that is terrain that is adjacent to rivers and streams and is subject to periodic or occasional flooding.
When construction of the building reportedly owned by former Bobasi MP Stephen Manoti started, there was an uproar with the complaints raised on its closeness to Mutuini-Ngong River.
This comes two days after NEMA brought down Shell petrol station and Java House restaurant in Kileleshwa area.
