Johnson Chogo added that his father, Lucas Asang’asa was frustrated that the owners of his bus were reluctant to solve the mechanical issues.

The last thing that the 72-year old driver told his son was that he was considering quitting his job because his bus had faulty brakes that were forcing him to strain.

The driver, however, went on his job. His son said the discussion they had on the problems facing Asang’asa at work was the last one and the next thing he heard was news of the deadly accident.

“On the fateful morning as he left for work, he told me the bus’ brakes were faulty. He was hesitant to continue with the job because the management was not keen on fixing the problem…that was the last we talked until we heard about the accident,” the driver’s son was quoted by the Nation.
