Kenyans blast Sonko after blaming Kidero for city’s poor drainage following heavy floods

Wacha Upus!- KOT screamed.

Uhuru Highway looked like something from a horror film, cars were swept away in other areas of Nairobi and most locations were impassable by foot.

In a bid to manage the crisis, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has ordered for the unblocking of the drainage system in the county. But not before shifting blame to Kidero’s administration. The Governor expressed shock that the previous administration where he served as a Senator did not use the Sh10b set aside to unlock the drainage system effectively.

“I have directed, Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company to hasten the process of unlocking the drainage system all over the County. I'm shocked that the Sh10b set aside by previous administration for unblocking the drainage system wasn't utilized effectively.” Read Sonko’s tweet.

However, Kenyans were not satisfied with his tweet and had this to say:

Kimathi Junior: You are shocked and you were in that government? Are you for real? What was your role as a senator? Wacha Upus....

Nahashon Muigai: Noticed today after the heavy downpour?

Shyro Kiki: Wondering too, he should have unclogged them before the rains. Let your work do the talking for you and keep your shocking reactions to yourself.

Philip: Don't always talk of the previous admin. Were you not among the Nairobi Leaders then? If you are working work and not using the previous as your Benchmark in everything you do.

Macoloh: Lakini Sonko hapa leo tunadisagree....7 months hukuwa umenotice hio pesa???

Nkathakirigilunani: So how long should we wait for you to get over the shock so you can fix this problem?

Francis Kihara Muchemi: We call this, knee-jerk reaction.

George Ngugi254: Wewe fanya kazi acha kutuonyesha vile hukujua! Hausaudii

Victor Okwemba: Going back to blame others is never a solution. Show us your creativity with what you have. Let your CEs work and come with solutions, not what we are seeing in that clip.

Allan Ogera: Blame game never helps. You’ve been in office for 100 days plus now and the Mets have been forecasting rain!!!
