New development on boy killed during NASA protest raises questions

The men were not in police uniform.

New details have emerged on the death of seven year old boy who was shot during confrontations between NASA supporters and police officers.

According to a postmortem done by senior pathologist Peter Ndegwa, the boy was killed by a low caliber bullet such as a pistol. This raises questions on whether the gun used was a police issued gun.

According to witnesses, Geoffrey Mutinda was playing on the balcony of their rented house in Pipeline area when men in motorcycles drove by and started shooting.

The men were not in police uniform but the locals claim that they were police officers stationed at a nearby administration police post.

The family of the slain Mutinda said that the area was calm and therefore did not understand why there were gun shots. Mutinda was a class two pupil at Machakos School.

“All I can appeal for is that the government to do its work and ensure justice is done” The father, said after the postmortem results.

In October, a form four student was shot while buying ice cream in Kisumu. Also, a two year old child had to undergo through a surgery to remove a bullet lodged in her head after being shot in the same month.
