Tension as Uhuru makes unexpected request to cabinet Secretaries

Anxiety has gripped all cabinet secretaries (CS's) after President Uhuru Kenyatta.

the move by the Head of state indicates that some of the CSs could be leaving office as early as next week.

Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto head have gone for a retreat to finalise on the new cabinet line-up.

The President had warned that he would be sacking cabinet secretaries who under performed or were caught in corruption cases.

Sources say that at least nine cabinet secretaries will not be returning to their dockets in the second and last term of Kenyatta.

Former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar and Former Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba are some of the faces from across the political divide that are expected to be joining the new cabinet line up.

Sources indicate that some cabinet members are already assured of return. However, they are not exempted from preparing hand over notes as they may be reshuffled.

The President’s choice of cabinet is also expected to reflect the county’s ethnic diversity especially after what has been termed as divisive elections.
