Migori governor Okoth Obado has opened up on a series of expensive requests made by Sharon Otieno during their steamy affair that ended with the bizzare murder of the 26 year old.

The Standard reported that during the grilling of the embattled governor, it emerged that Sharon had demanded to be relocated to Nairobi, choosing a house in Nairobi’s leafy suburbs of Westlands worth Sh35 million.

This was more than the governor was willing to offer as he linked up the slain beauty with a real estate agent who secured her a Sh10 million apartment which she declined.

This resulted in a disagreement with the governor cutting all communications and blocking her calls until Nation Journalist Barak Oduor and a former MCA Lawrence Mula approached the county boss.

Obado sent Mula and Oduor to ask Sharon who was by then pregnant what she wanted and the beauty chose a plot in Homabay.

Once again, the governor declined the request and instead asked her to identify a plot between one and two acres.

Obado divulged that he even offered to construct a 3-bedroom house for Sharon.

It also emerged that the county chief offered financial assistance to Sharon and was keen on assisting her and providing for the baby.

In his submissions, Obado recalled that he sent Mula with Ksh 80,000 for Sharon with his lawyer Cliff Ombeta adding that he had no problem with the pregnancy.

The pregnancy was not a problem to the governor. Sharon was in the process of being assisted and that if the child eventually was to be born and is confirmed to be his, she was to be provided for. There is nothing to gain with her death. What was the benefit?” Ombeta said.
