Matiang’i joins search operation after 20 die in Nakuru

Police have said the number could increase.

As at 8 am on Thursday, the number of people who had perished had increased to 20, even as rescue operations including multi government agencies intensified.

Rongai police boss Japheth Kioko on Thursday said 20 bodies had been recovered, with search and rescue operation ongoing.

There are fears of the toll rising further because "many people" are still unaccounted for, according to local leaders.
