Police in Bomet have arrested two men for allegedly gang raping a form three student and recording the bizarre incident before sharing it online as relative reveal more details on what transpired.

Relatives of the 17 year old girl who was gang raped in Bomet have spoken for the first time, revealing the suspects as police move in to make arrests after an audio of the bizarre incident was shared online.

A relative to the victim who spoke to the media on condition of anonymity divulged that the form three student was lured to the trap by her lover who she had differed with.

It all began on Sunday when the victim agreed to visit her lover who she had fallen out with in his room in Menet Village of Mogoma location in Bomet East.

“She said as darkness approached, the guy pretended to have gone to collect supper for her but returned with other men who ganged raped her in turns throughout the night.” Said the relative.

According to the relative, the suspect invited his friends who subjected the 17 year old to the traumatizing ordeal to punish her.

“The girl was discovered with serious injuries as she could not walk due to injuries sustained during the gang rape.” Added the relative.

According to the 3-minute audio recording, the victim is heard pleading for mercy from the men who appear to be well known to her.

Bomet OCPD Samson Rukunga confirmed that two suspects are in police custody and are helping the police with investigations.

Other suspects, believed to be eight in number are still at large with the victim admitted at Tenwek Mission Hospital.
