Police officers in Mombasa have arrested Swabir Mohamed, an employee of Ajab Mills in Shimanzi after he was captured on Camera torturing a man for alleged theft.

The arrest come hours after Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) had asked the man in question (Swabir Mohamed) to report to the nearest police station by Monday.

“The attention of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, has been drawn to the attached sensitive video clip, doing rounds in sections of the social media. The inhumane punishment meted on the victim, on suspicion of having committed a crime is not only callous

Consequently, a special team drawn from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau, Special Service Unit and the Operations branch has been assembled to help in the expeditious arrest of the suspect.

Should anyone have further information regarding this incident or may have witnessed it happen, kindly #FichuakwaDCI through 0800722203. USIOGOPE!” shared DCI on Sunday.
