This comes less than 24 hours after it was revealed that the government had allegedly threatened to revoke licenses of the media houses that will cover Odinga's swearing-in ceremony.

Media managers and editors were allegedly summoned to the State House on Friday. NTV managing editor claimed that threats were issued to media houses that would cover the ceremony.

He stated, “At the meeting, President Kenyatta expressly threatened to shut down and revoke the licences of any media house that would broadcast live the planned purported swearing in of NASA leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka on Tuesday. That direct threat has subsequently been echoed, off record by other senior members of government.”
