Speaking at Sun ’N’ Sand Beach Resort in Kilifi County on Sunday, Odinga disclosed that he had held himself back from the inauguration hoping that common will would prevail.The former Prime minister noted that political temperatures were too high at the time and his planned swearing-in would have led to chaos.
“We have held ourselves back in the last few days in the hope that some kind of common will, will prevail, but we are not going to be patient forever.“Anybody who does not see that we are at a tipping point does not live in Kenya,” Odinga stated.He confirmed that he would be sworn-in and nobody would stop him from carrying the Bible."I am going to carry the Bible. Nobody will stop me from carrying the Bible,” the Opposition leader affirmed.

Meanwhile, Odinga has remained open to dialogue with President Uhuru Kenyatta to solve the political stalemate in the country.On the other hand, Kenyatta has remained adamant that he will only hold talks related to the development of the country and nothing else. NASA's decision to cancel Odinga's inauguration has received backlash from their supporters.The decision to call off the oath plan was announced by NASA leaders Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula after wide consultations.However, it now seems the Opposition will proceed with the swearing in of Odinga as the President of the People's assembly.
