New twist in Sharon Otieno murder probe as police allow impostor to meet Obado’s PA in police cell

Impostor met Michael Oyamo-Obado’s PA and suspect held by police in Sharon Otieno murder probe

Nation reported that the man duped police by posing as a KDF official dispatched to Homabay to “help in the ongoing investigations as Mr Oyamo is a former disciplined forces’ officer” before being granted access.

A senior detective privy to the details was quoted stating that “the man was granted access to meet him but not alone. He met him in the presence of a CID officer and I cannot tell for how long”.

Military spokesman Col Paul Njuguna confirmed to the daily that “KDF has not dispatched a team or an individual to Homa Bay for any reason”.

“If anyone or a group of people are purporting to be from KDF, they are fraudsters and should be reported to the police,” he added.

A quick search on Truecaller identified the imposter as Lukas Ouko, mobile phone number 0722586506.

His motives remain unknown in the murder probe that is threatening to sink the career of the Migori county boss and with Oyamo who is reported to have lured the victim to a waiting car before her gruesome murder in police custody.

The deceased’s relatives maintain that the governor was romantically involved and that Sharon who was seven months pregnant for the governor at the time of her death.

This comes barely a week after Dennis Mwai-the key suspect in an attempted murder of ex-Garissa county official Mr Idris Mukhtar was found dead in police cell.

While police maintained that Mwai committed suicide, his relatives suspected foul play with one of his sister divulging that police had attempted to lure him with a deal to set him free.
