What Uhuru was doing during the burial of Nyenze

The President was busy at State House, Nairobi

While it had been anticipated that the president would meet for the first time with NASA leader Rail Odinga for the first time since the volatile electioneering period, which was never to be.

Mr Kenyatta also saw off the Iraq ambassador to Kenya Dr. Zaid Izzadin Mohammad Noori at State House Nairobi.

“Bade farewell to the outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Kenya, H.E. Dr. Zaid Izzadin Mohammad Noori,” he said.

President Kenyatta would later receive Uganda’s counterpart Yoweri Museveni for bilateral talks.

“Received the President of the Republic of Uganda, Kaguta Museveni who is on an official visit to our country,” the president tweeted but failed to divulge more details.

Mr Museveni will be in the county for two days beginning Wednesday to Thursday for bilateral talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He becomes the first leader to visit Kenya after Uhuru was sworn in for the second and final term in office on November 28 in Kasarani Stadium.

He attended Uhuru's inauguration, and when he was asked to address the gathering on behalf of African leaders, he told Kenyans to move on and develop the country.

Meanwhile, Nasa leaders who attended the burial of Mr Nyenze in Kyondoni Village, Kitui County urged President Kenyatta to hold talks with Nasa leader Raila Odinga.

Led by Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa, they urged two leaders to talk to end the political stalemate that has characterised Kenya for over eight months.

“Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga sit and talk for the sake of our country,” Mr Wamalwa told mourners in Kyondoni Village, Kitui County
