2 times prominent people in Kenya were troubled by bad roads [PHOTOS]

Powerful ambassador was the latest to get stuck

On Sunday, Irish Ambassador to Kenya Vincent O'Neil felt the agony of driving on a road in Makueni that was not tarmacked.

O’Neil was forced to leave his entourage behind and climb onto an OX to access St Patrick’s Primary School Kawese, where he was presiding over its opening following support from Irish organization Kenya Child Foundation.

In a tweet, the Ambassador said: "Access to the school difficult due to recent rains / muddy road no problem via Ox Cart!"

He is not the first prominent person to get caught in the struggle of manoeuvring in poor roads.

In May 2016, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen got stuck on the road after a heavy downpour.

After photos of young men helping him get out of the mud circulated online, Mr Murkomen received a backlash because the incident occurred in his own County.

It also came a few days prior to the incident he had dismissed the existence of poor roads in Elgeyo Marakwet.
