Woman killed by boyfriend she met via Facebook on First Date (Photos)

Police have arrested the suspect

The Lady identified has Lydia Nyaboke Onano, was staying with her younger brother in Ngara went missing after going to meet her boyfriend she met on Facebook for the first time.

According to her brother Japhet Onono, Lydia failed to return home on time and he decided to call her to find out what was going on

“She told me she was in Ngong and may not come back home. I then asked her for money to buy dinner, which she promised to send in the next five minutes,” Onono recalled the events of July 23.

Later on, her phone went off forcing the brother to call his mother Irene Mogeni in Nyamira County to report that her sister was missing.

They reported the matter to Police officers who have been helping them with the search of Lydia Nyaboke.

The search has resulted to the arrest of Richard Nyakina (Boyfriend) in Kisii by police officers from the Special Crime Prevention Unit.

The suspect revealed that he strangled the lady at Mutuini Dagoretti after hitting her with an object on the head.

The police officers traced her to Kisii town where the suspect had sold it.

“We arrested him in Gucha Kisii and he confessed to having killed the lady. He took the police officers to the thicket in Dagoretti near Muitini Secondary School” said the head of Special Crimes Unit Noah Katumo.

Local police officers confirmed that they had collected a body on July 27 from the scene and taken it to City Mortuary.

On Friday Last week, the family of the deceased identified the body and after postmortem, it was revealed that she died after being strangled.

“Just days before she disappeared, she used to talk for long hours on phone with someone. Out of curiosity, I asked her who it was, and she told me it was a new boyfriend.” His brother recalled

The girl is set to be buried on Friday.
