The deceased was a prominent member of Garissa county council of elders who lobby for the marginalized group.

Garissa County and the 2019 census

Duale recently joined politicians from the North Eastern region counties in rejecting the preliminary results of the 2019 national population and housing census.

The NE bloc counties claimed that the results are not from the actual enumeration that took place from the night of 24th/25th August 2019 and ended on 31st August 2019.

"Instead, we are certain that the data used especially for these counties came from pre-census mapping data collected earlier which were data extrapolations and not actual numbers.
