Linturi- Kitany cold war plays out during father's burial attended by DP Ruto

Dramatic

Senator Mithika Linturi and Marianne Kitany

The fall out between Meru Senator and his estranged wife Marianne Kitany played out during the burial for the senator's father Peter Linturi.

Linturi's family did not acknowledge Ms Kitany at the burial as the two are currently locked in a messy court battle to determine whether they, indeed, are husband and wife.

Mithika Linturi’s first wife, Mercy Kaimenyi, was listed as the daughter-in-law of the Meru Senator’s Late father who was buried at his rural home in Igembe South, Meru County.

Peter Linturi’s burial was attended by, among others, Deputy President William Ruto, Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi, his Tharaka Nithi counterpart Muthomi Njuki, Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka.

Court Drama

MPs Kirima Nguchine (Imenti Central), Kathuri Muringi (Imenti South), Mugambi Rindikiri (Buuri), Gichunge Kabeabea (Tigania East), Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East), Mpuri Aburi (EALA) and Kirinyaga Woman Rep Wangui Ngirici were also in attendance.

The mourners converged at Athi Primary School in Igembe South, where a funeral service was held before the deceased was laid to rest at his rural home.

Linturi’s father died two weeks ago when Kitany was still giving her evidence in court about their marriage.

Senator Linturi's lawyer told the court his client's father died of shock after finding out that his house had been built by a woman.
