The girlfriend of a Mombasa thug who was lynched by an angry mob on Sunday has reportedly promised to avenge the death of her lover.

The gangster identified as Mohamed Bobocha was brutally killed in Old Town, Mombasa, after he allegedly attacked a resident in Madobini.

Bobocha, who had been on police radar for several crimes, was also the ringleader of the notorious gang dubbed 'Old Town Youth Gang'.

After the mob attacked him, area OCPD Lucas Ogara divulged that Bobocha was with two other accomplices when they attacked the resident.

"He was confronted by locals and killed by an irate mob after he attacked a resident," he said.

Following his death, his girlfriend, Asma Awil Ahmed, vowed to take revenge.

In a Facebook post shared by former Nation Media Group journalist Yassin Juma, Ms. Asma said: "As long as I've known you I've never met someone wonderful as u. I love you and you've taken my heart and soul with you. Inshallh you will go to heaven I pray and may Allah forgive all your sins. I have lost you my heart but soon we see each other...revenge is in oda".
