Wendy Waeni, a gymnast who describes President Kenyatta as his number one fan, seemed irked by the photo where Mr Kenyatta was being taught how to make the chapatis when he met the Dawoodi Bohra Community on Thursday.

Little Waeni wondered how the Head of State could be happy making chapatis and even posting on social media while some Kenyans were dying due to starvation.

“Buda lakini watu wanakufaa tu na njaa....,” the 10-year-old captioned the photo.

Waeni has been in the liimelight since she performed for high-profile dignitaries including President Kenyatta, Rwanda’s Paul Kagame, Yoweri Museveni (Uganda) and former British PM David Cameroon.

President Kenyatta’s meeting saw the official inauguration of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah Arabic Academy Complex in Kenya.

During the event Mr Kenyatta urged Kenyans to refrain from radical fanaticism highlighting that: "Let’s work together to show that Islam is not a religion of violence but of peace. Despite our cultural difference, we will pray to the same God".
