Cabinet ministers accused of plotting to assassinate Deputy President William Ruto met on Tuesday despite the accusations against them.

CS Munya said that his colleagues went on with the meeting in his absence as he was away in China.

According to the Nation, the Trade CS said that the Tuesday meeting was held at La Mada hotel as it was one of the places where the gathering usually happens.

The meeting was successful... our aim is usually trying to ensure services are delivered to the population,” the CS said.

We have a list of issues picked locally which we are addressing including water, roads and electricity. What we do is tracking implementation and accelerating,” he added.

On Monday, the CS together with his colleagues from the Health and ICT ministries were summoned to the DCI headquarters to record statements over the alleged plot to assassinate the Deputy President.

Munya, who later addressed journalists on behalf of CS Sicily Kariuki and Joe Mucheru dismissed the claims by the DP which he said equated them to criminals.

Ruto’s assassination claim may not progress to its logical conclusion, due to his failure to record a formal statement with detectives.

According to reports, the DP is adamant to record a statement with any other DCI officer, insisting that he can only do so before DCI Director George Kinoti.
