Where is Moi?

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Friday visited former President Daniel arap Moi as he concluded his three day state visit to the country.

The visit went on well but confusion emerged after Moi's son, Gideon, issued a statement that contradicted Museveni's version of events.

In a post on social media, the Ugandan head of state said he had visited the former President in hospital while checking on Ugandan Speaker Rebecca Kadaga who is admitted at the Nairobi Hospital.

However, Gideon, who is also the Baringo Senator, released a statement indicating the Ugandan President had visited Moi at his Kabarnet Gardens home near Kibra.

"This morning, as I end my three-day state visit to Kenya, I visited the mausoleum in Nairobi where founding president Jomo Kenyatta rests and paid my respects. I also visited Mzee Daniel Toroitich arap Moi and our Speaker, Rebecca Kadaga, who are in hospital. I wish them a speedy recovery," Museveni stated.

"Retired President, Mzee at his Kabarnet Gardens home. The visit is a sign of the deep relationship that they have built over the years and I am glad that it is still flourishing up to date," the Senator said.

A source at the Nairobi Hospital told pulselive.co.ke that the former President has been admitted at the facility's VIP wing for the past week but the family was keen on having the matter kept private.

In December last year, Moi's handlers confirmed to the media that the former President had spent several nights at the Nairobi Hospital for routine tests.
