Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Tuesday offered Boniface Murage, who was caught trying to smuggle his child out of KNH, a job in his government.

Sonko who is attending a U.N conference in the United States, highlighted that Murage would be incorporated into the Nairobi County’s Environment Department.

Sonko’s team and an Administration Police identified as Officer Tamo Sanaiet, had earlier come to Murage’s help after the incident.

Sanaiet had handed the 22-year-old man Ksh56,000 and instructed him to follow the law after he was let go by the court.

The court had handed the man a 3-month suspended sentence and warned him from engaging in any other offences in the future.

Senior Resident Magistrate Caroline Nzibe had further pointed out that Murage would be jailed if he breached the warning during the period he was on state watch.

Murage had been arrested for trying to leave Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) with a baby over a Ksh56,000 hospital bill.
