KENHA has announced the closure of the busy Naivasha-Maai Mahiu highway at Fai Amario area after damage blamed on vandals.

It is not clear when the cracks appeared at the section near the bridge, which is about 8km from Naivasha town.

Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara who visited the area on Monday called for quick action citing the importance of the busy road to the economy.

"We are yet to ascertain the cause of the damage but from a layman's perspective we can detect poor workmanship," said Ms Kihara.
