Nandi Hills Member of Parliament Alfred Keter on Thursday surrendered to a Nairobi Court hours after Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi issued an arrest warrant against him.

Keter had failed to appear in court for a mention of his Treasury Bond forgery case.

Magistrate Andayi lifted the warrant after the legislator presented himself along with his lawyer.

Keter's lawyer took the blame for the mishap saying that he (the lawyer) had made a wrong entry in his diary, blocking out the day's date for other engagements.

Sh633 million Fraud Case

Keter is accused together with two directors of Desai Industries Limited; Arthur Ingolo Sakwa and Madat Suburali Chatur.

The legislator was arrested at the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) where he had gone to sell the bonds together with the accomplices.

They have all pleaded not guilty to the charges that were brought against them.

The Thursday mention was to establish whether exhibits and other documents that the prosecution intends to use in the suit have been supplied to the defense team.
