Simba Hasheem, a resident of Mandera, filed the matter before the Anti-Corruption Court following a report by the Auditor General which indicated vehicle purchases that amounted to the quoted figure.

Governor given 14 days to respond

The matter before Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogot argues that procurement of armoured vehicles at the cost of Sh16,935,000 million was unprocedural.

Further, Simba claims that Red Cross was not pre-qualified to provide ambulance services at the rate of Sh600,000 per person, which finally amounted to Sh40,171,759 by June 2015.

Magistrate Ogot ruled to have the Governor respond to the suit in the next two week.
