Scramble for maize after lorry accident

Truck carrying sacks of maize

Residents of Ndenderu were left scrambling for maize after a lorry which was ferrying the cereal was involved in an accident.

In a video posted online, people can be seen sweeping the ground to collect maize that had fallen on the ground.

Reports indicated that the truck's brakes failed, causing the accident which left the valuable commodity scattered all over the road.

Ndenderu residents came out with buckets and shopping bags to collect the grain after the Monday morning accident.
