The announcement was made a few hours after President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed Labour CS Ukur Yattani to take up the Treasury docket on acting capacity.
Henry Rotich and Geoffrey Wahungu are among 27 suspects named by DPP Noordin Haji as co-conspirators in illegal procurement processes in the Arror and Kimwarer dams projects.
Mr Wahungu is accused of fabricating an impact assessment report that gave approvals for the projects to be executed.
Although the suspects have been released from police custody on bail, they have been barred from reporting to their work stations until the case is heard and determined.
