The Kenya Urban Roads Authority on Friday issued an alert over the planned closure of a section of Ngong Road, Nairobi.

According to the alert issued by the authority, the stretch between China Centre and Prestige Plaza will remain closed to motorist for a period of about two weeks.

KURA conveyed that it would be carrying out some minor repairs on the section which will affect traffic flow along the road.

"This is to notify the public and Ngong Road users that there will be disruption of traffic between China Centre and Prestige Plaza along Ngong Road as from Monday March 25 until April 5, 2019.

"This is occasioned by some minor works to rectify defects and improve the section.

"Diversion lanes will be provided for traffic use. We kindly seek your cooperation as we endeavour to improve our urban road network," the notice read.

Complaints from Ngong Road users

Users of the major road have been posting photos online highlighting various defects that are already on the newly constructed road.

Many motorists have raised concerns over destroyed bollards especially at the Daystar junction.
