In a statement, the Authority urged every Kenyan possessing a new and/or second-hand vehicle to acquire the Third License sticker as per the regulations provided in the Traffic (Registration Plate) Rules.
NTSA General Manager Francis Meja noted that the deadline for drivers to get the Third License Sticker is 1 July 2017.
“In Implementation of The Traffic (Registration Plate) Rules, 2016 (Legal Notice No.62) Gazette on 15 April 2016. The Authority notifies members of the public that with effect from 1 July 2017 all NEW and SECOND-HAND MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATIONS will be required to acquire the Third License Sticker,” the statement read in part.
After acquiring the Sticker, NTSA instructed drivers to place it on the vehicle’s windscreen.
The Third License Sticker will bear discrete, overt and covert features of the motor vehicle registration and ownership.
It will also hold details such as the chassis number, make, and registration number among other details.
NTSA stated that the Sticker cannot be forged and is automatically destroyed when removed or tampered with.
To get the Third License Sticker drivers are directed to register on the Transport Integrated Management System (TIMS).
The cost of the License is Sh700.
