In January this year, Omaiyo police were forced to intervene and arrest Omaiyo after he stormed a Kisumu hotel where hi collegues were meeting.

He sought to evict participants at the meeting chaired by Deputy Speaker and Bonyamatuta Ward MCA Robinson Mocheche, claiming that it was a waste of public resources and insisting that such meetings can be held within the county to save public funds.

He said decried the hefty Ksh.14,000 per diem and Ksh.10,000 transport allowances paid to each which he termed a waste yet such meetings can be held in Nyamira town.
