Nyeri woman hacks to death a robber who attempted to steal from her

There was a dramatic incident on Thursday morning after a woman in Ngangarithi estate, Nyeri town, hacked to death a robber who had broken into her shop.

The incident happened at around 3 am when two robbers broke into a shop with the intention of stealing goods.

A neighbor who witnessed the robbery alerted the woman’s husband said that their shop had broken into.

The couple rushed to shop and accosted the thugs who reportedly took off in different directions.

The husband was joined by neighbors in pursuit of the thugs while the wife kept watch at the shop.

One of the robbers who is believed to have been hiding in the bush returned to the shop and had a confrontation with the women who grabbed a knife and hacked the attacker on the neck. The robber died a few minutes later.

Nyeri Central deputy sub-county police commander Bernard Amugune confirmed the incident, adding that detectives were still processing the information.
