Bosire said it was only fair for the DP to step aside and allow investigations into the circusmstances he acquired the land on which Weston Hotel is built.
The former Masaba MP said the office of the deputy president required someone with a high moral authority, adding that Ruto’s admission onfirmed that he was “thief of public resources”.
Bosire, who is a close ally of ODM Leader Raila Odinga said the Weston saga was just one of the many corruption scandals where the DP has been mentioned.
Ruto BBC Hardtalk Interview
The comment from the ODM official adds came a few says after Ruto told BBC that he had innocently bought the land and only learnt about its illegal acquisition when the National Land Commission investigated the matter.
“In fact, for the record, the National Land Commission has made a finding that Weston was an innocent purchaser for value from somebody who got it illegally, and preparations have been made constitutionally to restore that land to Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) by demanding that those who sold the land to us must pay,” the DP stated.
Media reports indicated that KCAA was not happy with the decision by the NLC tribunal and intended to appeal it so that it can get back the land instead of getting compensation form the alleged grabbers.
