Only staff, authorized personnel and visitors to access KNH - CEO Dr Evanson Kamuri announces

Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) has set up strict guidelines to ensure potential spread of COVID-19 in the facility is drastically reduced.

CEO Dr Evanson Kamuri announced that only staff and authorized personnel will be allowed to access the facility.

Commenting on patient visitation, Dr Kamuri clarified that only those contacted by the hospital would be allowed access and for particular reasons as pertains to their patient.

"Only family and relatives of patients who have been expressly contacted by the hospital will be allowed access for purposes of facilitating specific requests pertaining to patient care among them blood/organ donations, payment of bills, discharge of patients and such," he stated.

KNH Isolation Unit

The CEO further announced that all those allowed to access the facility will be required to sanitize their hands before entering the facility.

He explained that the measures are necessary following the confirmation of two more Coronavirus infections in the country on Sunday.

The hospital's management also clarified that all Coronavirus patients are in isolation at the KNH-Infectious Diseases Unit (IDU) Mbagathi next to Mbagathi hospital.
