Suspect was arraigned at the Makadara Law Courts

Police Officers at a past murder scene

Police are investigating the death of a lady who was alleged to have been stabbed 23 times by her lover at Pipeline estate, Nairobi.

Reports indicated that the woman identified as Grace Kagure, was killed by her boyfriend, James Wambugu after claims of a quarrel ensued between them.

Further information proclaimed that Wambugu disregarded the claims of Kagure being his girlfriend and that the deceased was a stranger in his home.

Despite the claims by the man, a potrait of the lady was seen hanging from one of the walls in the house.

Eye witnesses stated that the incident took place on Sunday morning where they heard screams of help coming from the apartment where the two lovers lived.

Neighbors who rushed to the scene stated that they found Kagure naked lying in a pool of blood as reported by Nation.

The suspect was pointed out to have been holding a knife in his hand as he stood beside the body.

The 34-year-old however explained that he had only stabbed the 29-year-old twice in self-defense.

Sources however indicated that a struggle occurred as certain furniture in the house had been moved in a frantic manner.

The criminal was presented at the Makadara Law Courts on Monday and Chief magistrate Heston Nyaga ruled to have Wambugu detained for an extra 15 days to facilitate investigations into the matter.

“The court notes that this is a murder investigation. As such, the State needs time to conduct proper investigations. I grant the request sought,” remarked Nyaga.
