Atwoli clashes with Duale over his COTU post.

Tough confrontations

The COTU boss has since stated that the Jubilee leader’s remarks are incorrect and misleading.

"It is regrettable that Duale has opted to rely on hearsays and innuendos in his discharge of duties," Atwoli said.

In a statement he released on Saturday, Atwoli mentioned that the union takes great exception to the uninformed statement made by Duale.

"The unfortunate statement clearly attests to the usual obsession by certain forces in positions of power with the operations of the NSSF," he said adding that it is more dangerous considering he is the one responsible for giving answers to the national assembly.

In accordance with the new NSSF Act No. 45 of 2013, Atwoli and Mugo are serving their first term in office as members of the NSSF Board of Trustees and will remain entitled for re-appointment for a second term in order to serve their two full terms.

Atwoli recently dropped his support for Amani National Coalition leader Musalia Mudavadi after he failed to show up for NASA’s crucial swearing in ceremony.

The COTU boss revealed that he called Mudavadi to know why he was not at Uhuru Park on that day. He claimed the NASA chief campaigner told him Raila would be arrested as the ceremony was illegal.
