Thereafter, he will hold more meetings with other leaders and officials of civil society organizations.
Odinga's speech at the CSIS is titled "Overcoming Kenya’s Political Crisis and Advancing Democracy, Rule of Law, and Stability".
In his speech, the NASA leader is expected to explain his reasons for withdrawing from the October 26 re-run and outline his next steps while offering his prognosis for Kenya’s democratic health, peace, and stability.
Odinga will then return to Kenya over the weekend.
This is the second overseas trip the NASA leader is making in less than a month.
Three weeks ago, Odinga travelled to the United Kingdom where he held several meetings with the business community and politicians from the European nation.
He delivered a one-hour lecture titled “Kenya’s Next Test: Democracy, Elections and the Rule of Law” at Chatham House in London.
Among the leaders he met include the Head of the Anglican Church, The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby who visited Kenya last week, former UN Deputy Secretary General, Lord Mark Malloch Brown and the UK Minister of State for Africa, Rory Stewart OBE on the current where they discussed the current political situation in Kenya.s
