CS Matiang'i, however, shut down journalists who had attempted to get a comment from him.
"No, no, no; don’t even ask that question," he remarked as he shifted focus to utterances made by Starehe MP Charles Njagua "Jaguar".
The CS borrowed a tune from Deputy President William Ruto who himself avoided questions from journalists on the matter during his presser at his Karen office on the same day.
State House statement on the controversial letter in DP Ruto assassination claim
According to DCI investigations so far, a letter that was addressed to President Uhuru Kenyatta on the alleged assassination plan was never received at State House as earlier speculated.
Detectives did not find a copy of the controversial among files investigated at State House.
The authenticity of the letter has also been questioned based on how it was addressed directly to the President instead of through Head of Public service Joseph Kinyua as is the protocol.
Secondly, government letters distributed among senior government officials are not written on white papers and instead use either blue or yellow conqueror paper.
The three accused CSs who reported to DCI offices on Monday also held a private meeting on Tuesday at the same hotel where the alleged assassination plan was hatched, La Mada Hotel along Thika Road.
