Jirongo was arrested over Sh20 million debt

Ex-Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo when he appeared before court on Thursady. He was ordred to pay Sh5 million or be remanded

Former presidential aspirant Jirongo had been ordered by court to deposit a sum of Ksh.5 million or face remand.

He was released on Thursday after paying Sh5 million where he spent two days in police custody.

Jirongo was on Wednesday arraigned in court for failing to pay a Ksh.20 million debt owed to businessman Brian Yongo following a court order.

Before appearing in court, Jirongo had been arrested on Tuesday over Sh20m debt owed to businessman Brian Yongo.

The businessman had accused Jirongo for failing to pay him the balance of Sh25 million loan which he had allegedly advanced him between 2014 and 2015.
