Economist and public intellectual David Ndii has unleashed a wave of attacks against President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying the head of state has a habit of showing to work drunk.

Trouble started after Ndii claimed that the newly launched Coast Guard was meant to pave way for the Kenyatta family to enter the fish and marine business.

A Kenyatta supporter, Dennis Dbowy, was not pleased with what he saw as negative perception from Ndii.

“For how long will you campaign on making our president look bad? Why don’t you just sit down, relax and see our President take the wheel in seeing this country go to a far much better place,” Dennis said in a replying tweet.

The former NASA strategist, responded in his usual brief bare-knuckle attacks saying, “for as long as the dimwit is in office blundering and bankrupting the country”.

Ndii later posted a photo of President Kenyatta bemused at the sight of a champagne drink, while officiating at the Kenya Open Golf Tournament at Karen Country Club.

Kaggiah Wanjiru defended the President, noting that it was a social event where guests were allowed to treat themselves to alcoholic drinks.

Drinking in the office

Never one to back down from an argument, Ndii claimed that President Kenyatta was known to go to the office drunk and further claimed that the head of state often failed to go to work out of intoxication.

“And its’ a matter of public record that Uhuru frequently shows up for work intoxicated or fails to show up at all because he is in no condition to,” the Oxford-educated economist stated.

The former NASA strategist is one of the harshest critics of President Kenyatta.

He previously worked as a strategist for ODM leader Raila Odinga but they went separate ways after the former Prime Minister made a handshake deal with President Kenyatta.
