DP Ruto's 2022 presidential bid causes tension in Jubilee

Leaders jostle for roles.

On Tuesday, Changamwe MP, Ramadhan Kajembe has called for a meeting to discuss campaign strategy.

Kajembe, former Likoni MPs Masoud Mwahima and Suleiman Shakombo, former Mvita MP Mohamed Jahazi and Jubilee MCA aspirants of the August 2017 elections want to play a bigger role in Ruto's 2022 campaign.

Entry of former Wiper gubernatorial aspirant Hassan Omar has caused tension and jealousy among Jubilee members.

Ruto's endorsement of Hassan Omar as current Mombasa governor, Ali Joho's replacement in 2022 has also caused resentment.

Tourism CS Najib Balala, took over the reigns of Jubilee campaigns in Mombasa from Jubilee gubernatorial aspirant Suleiman Shahbal after he was accused of falling out with supporters.
