According to the paper, companies associated with the DP have been receiving millions of shillings by leasing houses to police officers in contracts.
A company owned by his family members and a real estate management firm are reportedly listed among beneficiaries of the deal.
According to the paper, the deal sees Matiny LTD, a company whose directors are listed as Charlene Chelagat Ruto and Rael Chebet Kimetto pocket 20.3 million shillings annually for leasing a 98 flats to the police.
Legend Management, another company linked with the DP pocketed 16 Million shillings for leasing 72 housing units in Osere farm in Rongai.
This brings the total number of housing units leased by companies associated with the DP to 160.
The units by the two firms are reportedly built on land bearing the same registration number (L R 23132) and has seen the firms pocket Sh 60.1 million so far.
While there is no indication of wrongdoing, the contracts point to a conflict of interest given the seniority of DP Ruto in government.
However, the deal is set to come to an end with IG Joseph Boinet maintaining that all leases will come to an end come January, meaning that the landlords will have to find new tenants.
