DP Ruto speaks on plot to block his 2022 presidential bid

New alliances taking shape as DP Ruto speaks on plot to block his 2022 bid

The DP who has in the past dismissed reports that some Jubilee politicians are keen on scuttling his bid to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta divulged that those who are opposed to his 2022 bid have resorted to peddling propaganda.

"Let them continue peddling propaganda but we will meet with them on the judgement day. The electorate will decide between performers and propagandists.” Ruto said.

He disclosed that he is aware of behind the scenes political intrigues with groups ganging up in an attempt to undermine the track record of Jubilee.

He acknowledged that he is aware of groups peddling lies through the media with a view of dividing Kenyans.

“Those that are moving from one media house to another with propaganda will be defeated. We have no space for divisions and propaganda but are focused on services," DP Ruto said.

The DP did not name those behind the propaganda amidst media reports that the Jubilee camp is divided over recent efforts by President Uhuru Kenyatta including lifestyle audit to tame runaway corruption in government.

Earlier on, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko had divulged that a section of influential politicians and businessmen from central Kenya were holding night meetings to scuttle DP Ruto’s bid.

However, a host of leaders from the region who accompanied the DP at yesterday’s event assured him of their support in the 2022 race.
