He further stated that the corruption perceptions people have on him were also used to give the misleading polls, and to defame him and was sponsored by his political rivals.
“At a time when people are so desperate that they want to amend the constitution to bar DP from running for presidency, it should not shock anyone that a survey like this would be concocted,” read part of the statement.
“We must be careful not to mislead Kenyans with faulty or fraudulent statistics, even for mundane purposes. We must resist a culture of cooked surveys, manipulated data and stage-managed findings,” he added.
Opinion poll
DP Ruto’s words came after the latest opinion poll conducted by Ipsos ranked him the most corrupt leader in Kenya, closely followed by Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, former President Mwai Kibaki, and Opposition leader Raila Odinga were also mentioned in the survey as corrupt leaders by 5 percent of those surveyed.
